The route of vaccines

The Route of Vaccines is a cartographic representation of the purchase agreements entered into by the pharmaceutical companies that produce the vaccines that have been administered in Mexico. These 8 companies have sold 9.2 billion doses worldwide. Pfizer is the company with the most doses sold in the group (3.366 billion doses in 100 contracts with 55 countries). It is followed by Serum Institute of India (2.135 billion doses in 40 contracts with 31 countries), AstraZeneca (1.256 billion doses in 36 contracts with 33 countries), and Moderna (1.036 billion doses in 33 contracts with 22 countries). Pfizer, AstraZeneca, Moderna, and Janssen have their primary destination in the United States, whereas Serum Institute of India has India; Sinovac has China; Sputnik V has Iran, in addition to Russia; and Cansino has Mexico. Pfizer, Moderna, and Janssen have sent more than 60% of their total doses to the United States, Canada, and Europe. Sinovac and Sputnik V have sent at least half their doses to Asia and AstraZeneca has sent a third of its doses to Asia and a third to Latin America as its leading destinations. Latin America has received 1.326 billion doses from these 8 companies. Eighteen countries have purchase agreement with the companies, the top destinations being Brazil, Mexico, and Peru; Brazil has acquired nearly half of these doses. The pharmaceutical companies with most doses sold in the region are Pfizer, AstraZeneca, and Sinovac.
